"Famous queens as Hatshepsut, Tiye, Nefertiti, and Nefertari were powerful women who were not simply wives but who ran the pharaoh’s palace and exercised significant political power. Although pharaohs could marry many wives, only one was allowed to bear the title ‘Great Queen’. I am sure none of these women had to do many chores that I have neglected in these last few months of the C19. Weird that with being at home I have more time for a little housework than mousework, but it is not happening." Read more on the blog.

"Exactly a year ago, we first visited Nostalgia Falls, a Homestead region designed by Noisette Haller. At the time I noted the region was both photogenic and also the kind of place those who prefer Halloween themes that have a lighter touch might also enjoy. Given it is the first anniversary of that visit (and given the region has a new home), I decided to hop back and have a look around, and was both surprised and please to see that the region offers both a familiar look coupled with more than enough changes to give me a comfortable sense of recognition whilst also presenting a lot that is new and ready to be discovered." "I decided that as a present to my friends I would make a small book with a short note explaining why I am thankful for each of them. I feel like sometimes I get caught up in the daily grind of life that I don’t pause enough to express my gratitude. In their own way, they add a richness to my life, and my world would be a little less bright without them. The thing about my ideas is that they tend to linger and evolve." Read more on the blog.

"It’s nearly National Novel Writing Month! In case you’re unaware, NaNoWriMo (and, yes, it really should be called International Novel Writing Month, I know; let’s accept there are more important things to get riled about right now and let it lie) is the act of writing a 50,000 word novel within the 30 days of November. If you’ve never tried it before, there has probably never been a better year than 2020 to give it a go." Read more on the blog.
"Earlier this month, I started writing affirmations for use when my anxiety kicks in and I need to calm myself. Things like “It’s okay to not be okay” and “I am human, I am not perfect. I will fall and that is okay.” I have more but they’re deeply personal so I’m not going to share what my affirmations are exactly. These affirmations have been a lifesaver this month as I have waded through a murky emotional roller coaster." Read more on the blog.
"In taking this journey to be me, I had to take a long had look at myself, all those who have been important in my life and the world around me. I have written before how some of my views on the world vary from others who are transitioning. When I was doing my counseling internship and in talking with others who are on the quest to be who they truly are, I have butted heads heads with others about what warrants a micro aggression or discriminatory behavior versus what is an honest mistake. Today, I think I found perfect examples of both cases." Read more on the blog.
"Okay, I never REALLY left. However, I did take a long break from my actual blog site to try my hand at micro blogging. It was fun. It was quick and eventually it was really easy. I knew there were about seven people that read my blog (at least four of them are close friends), but I really didn’t believe that many people were actually reading what I wrote. After winning the Most Humorous Blogger award…well, now I’m like…y’all actually read it?" Read more on the blog.
"Good morning and happiest of Mondays to you, blog reader. Why am I so chirpy? Not sure… maybe it was the extra hour in bed this weekend that did it. It certainly wasn’t an exciting weekend, but I guess I’m not alone in that." Read more on the blog.
"It is said that Jennifer Steele’s paintings fall into the genre of representational impressionism, that they are painted in a combination of acrylic and oil paints. I respectfully disagree. It makes far more sense that she paints in dreams. No… You misread that. She doesn’t paint dreams. She paints IN dreams. She, surely, has found a way to dip her brush into Morpheus’ personal palette and slather the very fabric of the dreamworld across a canvas. Every piece has an almost surreal, otherworldly quality that I find, counterintuitively, both comforting and disturbing." Read more on the blog.

"I love this quote by Jane Austin. I mean, in the end, it’s a pretty simple concept. The more we know and understand about ourselves, our motivations, behaviors, etc…the healthier we respond to the world around us. It sounds pretty easy, right? Yeah…wouldn’t it be nice if it was that easy? Unfortunately, it is never that easy." Read more on the blog.

"The Kribik is a gentle, and loyal creature, best suited as a companion. It has a positive, playful demeanor, and grows to like people very fast. It is slightly timid at first, but after it examines you a few times, it will learn to love everyone around. " Read more on the blog.
"If you’ve been here for any length of time, you know decor is not my strong suit, but is something i’ve been trying to improve upon for years now. i think part of it is that i’m so rarely inspired by ‘just’ decor, as opposed to being inspired by fashion, makeup, hair, etc." Read more on the blog.
