  1. For me, this just happened yesterday. I have hundreds of empty folders in my inventory. Can't use any of my dances, and almost all of the clothing I wear is just gone. I'm not the only one still having this issue, I hope?
  2. Hello! I'm broke and need money for developing my mesh clothing line, so I'm seeking employment. My only terms are: No stripping and no sex. And no voice (I can use voice in meetings and the likes, but I'm a pretty shy person irl and would be super uncomfortable using it on a regular basis). Those terms have made it incredibly hard for me to find employment :[ I have tons of dance animations, and a fairly large wardrobe. The only catch is, I have no dancing experience. I'm friendly, fluent in English- obviously-, and I can type over 80 words/minute. Please send me an IM inworld if you have a spot available. - And yes, I have searched in-world. I'm having a difficult time getting a hold of club owners. Most won't take anyone without experience. My options aren't only limited to clubs or dancing. I'll consider anything you toss my way. Thanks!
  3. Figured it out LOL. Had my system units in cm. Ugh such a relief.. just have to redo this weighing job and i'm done. I guess for anyone else having these issues.. learn from my mistakes!
  4. Okay, I've figured out that in order for the mesh to upload with the correct weighting, I have to manually go in and add the bones via text file. Max just WON'T export the data. But NOW I'm stuck with this problem.. in previewer, my mesh looks just right. I can select skin weights and joints. (just a test mesh) But when I try to wear the mesh, it's so tiny I can't see it. When I drop it on the ground, it's like a tiny grain of rice. My unit setup is in meters, and I scaled SLAV to 1.0 when I first started...
  5. Okay, I've tried to replicate this exact video using the SLAV rigged avatar. I haven't changed anything about the SLAV files since I first downloaded them. Yet, I can not upload the skirt! It's doing the exact same thing as my own mesh - appearing on the avi's hand and not allowing skin weights! I'm utterly baffled at this point. The skirt was pre-weighted, so what could I possibly be doing wrong? I have a feeling 3DS Max is not wanting to export my meshes correctly. I thought maybe i'd installed the Collada plugin wrong, but if I had I wouldn't be able to export .dae from the dropdown menu, right? When I open my .dae file, it does not have the names of the bones. Instead, it lists "joints": <Name_array id="geom-skirtMesh-skin1-joints-array" count="6">joint0 joint1 joint2 joint3 joint4 joint5</Name_array> I'm not sure if this is correct or not, but from what I understand, these should be bone names... Anyways.. skirt is less than a pixel in size now and still attached to hand. Bleh.
  6. Yes. I followed the tutorial on how to weight all of the avatar bones to a single vertex, as all 26 are needed in the .dae file.. I just redid the process, in case I screwed up the first time. I'm using 3ds max 2012, however, and I guess the weight tool is bugged? I had an issue where I would try to add a bone to the weight tool and 3ds max refused to select the bone. It's a common issue with 2012, so instead, I took the text method and opened the .dae file in word, then added the bones to the list. I can now select "Skin Weights", but when I do, my mesh becomes giant in the preview window. When I upload it and wear it on my avatar, it's still attached to the avi's hand. Edit: I downloaded a service pack and it seemed to fix the problem with adding bones to the weight tool.. I'm still unable to upload the mesh with skin weights, and it is still attached to my avatar's hand. I have all of the bones weighted to my mesh correctly. Going to fiddle with it, but still not sure what's wrong..
  7. Hello! I'm giving my hand at meshing for the first time on secondlife and I'm running into some issues. To start out, I know the basics of 3DS Max and have been using it for a few months now, but for other programs.. not Second Life. I've looked at the wiki page over and over again, searching left and right for solutions to all of the issues I've faced - and so far, they've worked. Except this one. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong here. When I try to upload my mesh to secondlife, I can not click the "Skin Weights" option on the previewer. Other than that, everything looked o.k. in the previewer window. But when I upload the mesh and try to wear it, it's tiny and it is attached to my avatar's hand. I'm running the MAX_SLAV rigged skeleton on 3DS Max 2012. I know there aren't a lot of 3DS Max tutorials out there, so I've been salvaging what I can from other who had this issue using Blender. I'm at a loss when it comes to searching the web for an answer, and I'm hoping human minds would be more effective. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Sorry for the bother :(
