  1. Hi all I'm looking to buy a new laptop. As the one i have has seen far better days. I would need a laptop as it's portable (i travel at times.) But i would still need it to be able to run second life. I wont need to have max settings, mid or low is absolutely fine. But i will need the laptop to handle not only everyday tasks and applications, but also be able to run second life as well. The Asus laptop specs are: Hard Drive Capacity: 500 GB Processor Type: Intel Celeron Processor Speed: 1.5 MHz Memory: 4 GB And the lenovo's Processor Type: Intel Celeron Processor Speed: 1.80GHz Hard Drive Capacity: 1TB Graphics Processing Type: Intel HD Graphics Memory: 6GB Which of the two would be the better option to go ahead with if any? oppinions appreciated.

I have some stuff from DeeTaleZ too. There truly is a huge range of clothing types out there, but you have to do a lot more looking to find conservative stuff. Agree, I do like to shop at Mon Tissu quite a lot :matte-motes-smile:. And is actually where i brought one of the trench coats i mentioned earlier. For me i think one of the best sl clothes creators which caters well. Along with Maitreya, ISON, Tulip, Cold logic, & Happy Pencil for shirts. I methodically organize my inventory by Item and creators so do have a good list. But it wouldn’t hurt to see more variety here and there. Given that you do, as you mentioned have to search a lot more than necessary, than If say. Searching for something less conservative to wear.

Yes, it's not too hard to find stuff you like that is NOT slutty, but if one just goes to MP and shops, one gets for the most part clothing that would be inappropriate in RL. I give you the first page of Apparel>Women's>Women's Tops>Sweaters>L$100-L$500 here. There's like one or two things on that page you could wear to the grocery store. To tell someone that if she's finding tramp wear it is because that's what she's looking for is not only insulting, it's total BS. Instead, you might have given her some search suggestions. Mine would be to just keep looking at stuff you like and build up a list of shops that work for you. @Dillon, Thank you hun, and i'm sure from anyone else. Who has noticed the same popular ongoing tramp wear trend, and also mentioned their same findings here. If possible, i would love and appreciate it. If you could share a list of the names of the creators, or of the stores which you buy from with us all? I'm not sure why i seem to have trouble or anyone who has stated the same. But I would also love to be able to dress according to what I’m comfortable with. As I’m sure a lot of the other responders to this topic would, who mentioned their trouble with marketplace shopping. I usually do a lot of Shopping in sl as i own a second life fashion blog. In fact it's a huge part of my sl use. Often spending anything of up to 10000L at a time in batch orders a day. yet yes, from what I’ve experienced. And also in using search terms relating to what i want. And even extending to google search terms as of recently. (stating secondlife, then the item of clothing i'm looking for) I still am unable to find what I’m looking for, I have a better chance at finding the styles i like. via flickr page browsing and the use of other Sl fashion blogs. Then use of the marketplace searches or browsing alone. Also given that i like to be able to buy well detailed, and carefully designed clothing. I figure if I’m paying rl money for it, it had might as well look good to wear. @ Coby I have that jacket in two colours, and another style similar by another designer. Some makers do cater, but not all. From what I’ve always noticed since the start of my sl use. There’s still more for the option of showing skin, then there is to not. @ 16 Thank you for the first screencap Meli imako is one designer of a handful of whom i do shop from. The sea hole also, DeeTaleZ i have brought from, mostly tops as there is a good selection of long sleeved tops. Only five of the good seven i have brought from this same maker, to wear on my avatars shape show her chest area a lot more than i would personally like to see. Only today was i dressed in a bodysuiti brought by that same creator, and had placed a mesh sweater on top not being satisfied enough with the outcome. The second and third screen caps don't however show anything to my personal taste and liking.
  4. Amie Kaestner wrote: I blame lack of choice in the marketplace. With my avatars, even if they're not the same shape as me wearing "sexy" clothing makes me feel like I'm lying to myself. I tried looking for some female viking clothes that weren't skimpy and was disappointed by the selection; I think I only came across three that didn't look like a Nordic bikini. Sometimes I've been tempted to buy male clothing since it tends to be a lot less revealing. Lack of selection in the marketplace, i often have a hard time trying to find even the simplest style of tops. Which don't give the illusion of my avatars chest area hanging all out, or finding the right pair of jeans which don't expose underwear. Or even leave my midriff completely on show. A lot of the fashions and mostly popular styles, are designed to create an overtly sexual avatar look. More variety for everyone’s taste would sooner fix the problem. I also feel like i'm lying to myself as well, whenever i end up having to wear one or two of those items, i don’t dress provocatively in rl to go to shops to get a carton of milk or see friends, so would not really have my avatar dress that way either.
  5. I think everyone approaches second life differently, pertaining to there real life needs. For me second life is a creative extension to my rl. Meaning that here i can learn further about different skills such as building, meshing, design, & scripting. Which are skills which i use often in rl. Im very much as i am on sl in rl as well, still the same friendly, carefree but shy and helpful girl. The only difference may be that i am a lot more assertive, when introducing myself or talking to someone than would be in rl. Of course there still exists virtual embarrassment, having experienced it a few times. But nothing as extreme as i would come to experience in rl. I also try to make my avatar as much like me as possible, from modifying the appearance in shape and features using my rl measurements. To selecting the right skins with my yellow undertones, and clothes that suit my style. And what i would wear on a daily basis in rl. If i wake up one morning and feel like putting together a monochrome combination. I get the want to dress my avatar in a similar way. Although i share personal rl details in my profile such as age and location. As well as relationship availability. Anything else is restricted to a need to know basis, with close friends i've established since using sl. And of which there is only a few. My second life name is also a make up of my rl name and rl nickname, but just because i don’t fair well with making up names. It makes me feel detached from the avatar representing me, and as though it belongs to someone else other than me. Im not opposed though to striking up a conversation with someone, and sharing rl experiences interests and details. Only i first like to get to know a person over time & as i would in rl. And In order to establish a trusting relationship with them. if anything sl is not free of stalkers and the likes of, so the reason for my weariness and not just with sl. But with any online website or virtual platform which i have used in the past. Not always do we know a persons personal background or the difficulties they face in everyday life, to understand there reasons for wanting to adopt a role to play. I've also tried voice on one or two occasions, but prefer the use of text. For me it's simpler and just causes me less lag. Although it may be different strokes, for different folks. I would have to say that i can also understand what Monti mentioned. I think maybe unconsciously little bits of your rl personality traits. Would often at times seem to slip out into your character and not by choice. You would have to be a pretty fantastic actor/actress, to be able to stay in role... at all times. And meet people that way without sharing some real life interests or small informations.
  6. @ SweetArashi, Thank you, from what you've mentioned of your own experiences that sounds like what i'm looking for. @ Czari ...lovely, sounds perfect!, i will visit in world and have a look as well as try that search you mentioned. I'll also be sure to Im you too if i have any questions should i like what i see. Thank you @ Qie lol @ Amethyst ..I'll be sure to keep this mind, Thank you for telling me. I had no idea they would breed so much, i was actually going to be given a breedable kitten by a friend. But thought it best to find out first if i could find the type of pet i wanted.
  7. Hi, in need of lots of help. :matte-motes-smile: Im trying to locate a second life pet shop, Preferably one which sells puppies. And if possible has a Bichon frise breed in stock, or perhaps another similar looking breed to this one. For the price of the pet, i'm looking to pay anything from 300 up to 900 lindens. I'm not sure on scripts, but i guess the more interactive or life like the actions and mannerisms the better.
