That was rather rude and aggressive, BoomKesha - why? There are plenty of good DJs who don't have huge groups following them around, and plenty of clubs with patrons looking for DJs. My advice weould be to check the ads here in the forum, also go to busy clubs and ask if they're hiring. Can't recommend a particular place as the OP didn't mention her genres.

Thanks for responses My first time - in 6 years! - actually witrhdrawing money (proceeds of donations to a good cause, already paid it forward, just waiting to get the cash to re-fill depleted real life accounts!), so was a little unsure. Phil - banks make their money from the interest they accrue on the money they hold - that's the interest I was talking about - not sure whether LL or PayPal are getting the benefits!

Can anyone tell me what the current withdrawal time is from SL to Paypal - started the process a week ago and still no sign of money turning up in PayPal account. I've heard that it can be anything from 5 (working) days to 10. Also - anyoe know where the money resides in the interim - are LL getting the interest or are Paypal?

To do what you want: 1) Make the whole thing black 2) Use 'select face' to make the front face white 3) Apply your texture to the white face That should make a black board with your texture showing on your selected face

I see you're running Firestorm. I had similar issues after buying a new laptop a couple of months ago - far better specs than my old machine, and yet everything ran really slowly and my frame rate was awful. In the end, I found that the only viewer that ran without issues was Viewer 3. I have no idea why this might be - but I can run V3 on ultra graphics fairly happily (random crashes from time to time). Other viewers still crawl. Just throwing my experience out there in case it helps - it might not work for you, since I am clueless as to why it works for me!

So, my avatar has hooves, and I wear an alpha layer to hide my 'real' legs. If I try on a mesh dress, that comes with an alpha layer, that layer replaces the one that hides my legs. Am I doomed to have to choose between my hooves and mesh clothing, or is there a way round this?

Now I've been forced to use viewer 3.0, I can't for the life of me find out how to block someone who is nowhere near me, but who keeps sending me weird IMs in Spanish (which I don't understand!). Is it possible, and if so, would some kind soul please tell me how - the knowledge base isn't helping! Thanks in advance!

Ah, so it's not just me then Got a new computer (quad core i7 with a GeForce 540 graphics card) a week last Friday - everything was fine the first time I logged in - but since then it's been slower than I've ever known it - being the non-techie that I am I was afraid I'd done something terrible by accident. Have tried Singularity and Firestorm, but nothing seems to help. Guess I'm in for another evning of trying to DJ (streaming is fine) with only being able to type one letter very few seconds then...sigh. Funny thing is, other people on the same sim at the same time using the same viewer aren't having the problems I am. Suggestions on a postcard?

Yay, someone remembers me I've clambered back in using (of all things!) Emergence, and am currently partaying in my wedding clothes at a mate's house. I think viewer 3 needs a bit of work - so get on with it, LL people! I'm learning to build meshes, and I want to be able to see them!

So, I've been away from SL for about a year - tonight the husband has a rush of blood to the head and suggests we pop back in to see how things have improved (yeah, that was what we assumed would have happened). I've been reading about SL, and now we have viewer 3 (woot!) which supports meshes. I downloaded it and in I go. Oh look, I'm a cloud. Eventually everything rezzes, and I manage to find the husband and tp him to where I am (which was Pixeldolls mainstore). He arrives, and so does his hair, 3 feet above the rest of him. He remembers how to walk, and wanders off, leaving his hair hanging there. Meanwhile, I search in vain for my inventory. Can't find a way of opening it, but after Googling I find that I should have checked 'advanced' before logging in. So I log out, and go to log in again, with 'advanced' checked. As soon as I do that it tells me I need to log out again in order for the 'advanced' thing to kick in. I log out again. I log in. I'm a cloud. I get a ream of messages about 'unable to load blah blah blah gesture'. I'm somewhere called 'Nude - moderate' that I've never been before. My inv is there but refuses to load. I decide to post on the forum about this less than thrilling experience. I check back on SL - I'm still a cloud. I log off, probably for the last time. So long, and thanks etc.
