People abandon land for many reasons. I have found that the abandon land that has NO value. An example a 32m2 lot. you can buy it and put a tree on it. Or a lot that is 4 meters wide and 300 meters long, a nice plot if you plan on putting in a sidewalk. Those are sold by the Governor. The people that buy them are new people to the environment that have opted to go premium. So the governor is "reaping" the fresh customers. It costs to learn. Most land undeveloped is either useless or very use specific on the mainland. Cure is to control carving of the lots for heaven's sake obsorb the fragments and make them into a viable plot. Another idea is to indicate the plots measurements. Homes etal need room, it is real cool to buy a litlle house that wont fit on a lot because of a meter. Again the new player is again "opportuned" aka robbed. SL land is sorta like buying in a DMZ you never know what you have until you have been clipped by the governor. Unless you use autocad or 3ds max for a livelihood, it is likely you will not be able to place your first house and maintain sanity. Again, rob the newest customer and make sure to shake a little frustration in there. Linden labs PLEASE give use an EASY BUTTON. You take enough off of us without us having to hire people to help us place a house or a chair for that matter. Another solution maybe to have a process based help system.....sorry you are still working on the first help system.
