  1. Take a look at the center of this photo (sorry, blurry, I didn't wait for it to rez . the two against the wall are the ottomans. The items that look like ottomans -not against a wall- are a bulldog and/or Siamese cat bed. Those are also $50 L as of right this minute for the Wanderlust Weekend sale event. Not shown in the screengrab to the left of the blue fireplaces (bottom left and $50L) are a couple more ottomans. Hope it helps!
  2. I should think the garland would be included, since its a set. ?? On the MP, the store sells the entire set, and it does show the garlands on the piano.. and they sell the garland separately for $199 L$ FWIW.
  3. I'm surprised no one has built one yet. Though I haven't searched for it either. also, excellent user icon ❤️
  4. Hm. Good question. Need more specifics to be able to answer though.. like, a fridge large enough to hide one body? Or a dozen? Or? 🤔
  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Wood_(artist) I am beyond sad at this news. Somewhere I have packed away some of her artwork that I bought many, many years ago at a science fiction convention. The Tarot deck that she created is still my most favorite of all the ones that I own. I own a ton of her stuff from her store on Livingtree; I have no idea if her RL husband will keep the sim up or not. 😕 http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Livingtree/105/129/24 if you want to go shopping.
  6. How do you feel about Victorian and or steampunk? There's poetry readings announced in the ISC (Independent State of Caledon) chat channel as they happen, roughly one every other week or so. Possibly more, but I'm not logged in every day. We also have Caledon Oxbridge University (both an SL place and a group) that has weekly classes on a variety of subjects. As a newcomer to SL you might find them helpful. There are also "do at your own pace" tutorials to teach you the basics of getting around in Second Life. I highly recommend taking the self guided tours and the Weekly Avatar Safety Class whenever you have time. (look for the red arrows on the sidewalks in Oxbridge.) Be sure to visit Oxbridge as soon as you can - there are several high quality complete avatar sets available only to new residents who are less than 30 days old. The main Oxbridge classroom is here http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Caledon%20Oxbridge/110/129/27 and there is a weekly class schedule right outside the building to the right. It's huge, can't miss it. The free avatars are near the classroom; the direct location is http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Caledon%20Oxbridge/206/144/27 (although you might get routed to the main landing point, not sure.) Anyway, I hope its helpful.
  7. ?? there's free and open sandboxes absolutely everywhere (try a search for NCI to start with, I <3 them) and some sandboxes have really liberal return times. The most common I've seen have 3+ hours before your stuff is automatically returned.. that's more than enough time for a long shopping and unpacking trip. The only reason for the auto return times is to clean up after the slacker avatars who can't be arsed to removed their prims when they are finished.
  8. Said shop owner is mistaken.
  9. Did you try deleting your payment info from your acct and then re-entering it?
  10. Well, first off, you can buy regions for less than that from someone who already owns some regions; there's a lot of folks downsizing their holdings these days. You can buy as much land as you want to pay for. And pay tier for... The # of parcels depends on how YOU divide it up. As for "will land rent fast", that depends on a -lot- of factors. One is your asking price, another is amenities. I know a guy who owns 3 regions, he's a decent guy. His rent price is dirt cheap.. and he has trouble keeping his places full. One of his big issues is that he has no clue how to do nice or even halfway nice landscaping. He completely flattens out the land all the way to the edges, puts a sand texture on it, tosses the houses on it every which way, and thinks he's done. It's not very nice looking, not once you've seen what can be done with SL landscaping. (go wander round Botanical or Alchemy Immortalis sims sometime, among many other places I can think of that are just lovely to look at..) He also does not allow people to have their own music in their rentals; each house would have to have a separate plot and he has mostly apartment type buildings, which don't work so well with that. Another lady I know owns well over a dozen regions with a central theme, lush landscaping all around, has varied free events every week or so at a community center she built in the heart of her sims & open to everyone, and there's a great mix of residential and commercial land sites. She is an absolute sweetheart too, always willing to work with someone on anything you need, whether it's terraforming help, adjusting the borders of your plot so the house you just bought will fit, even letting you pay your tier a day or two late without reclaiming your land 10 minutes after the tier meter expires. Absolute angel. Most of her residential properties are double prim too, which is hard to find sometimes. AND she's very reasonably priced, more so than many landlords I've seen. Yet she has trouble finding renters who will stick around. I have no idea why, unless it has to do with the glut of land on the markets and people leaving SL in general. Speaking only for myself, I love SL.. But sometimes I think about leaving too. Thanks to the lousy economy, I've been out of work for a couple years now. But I like owning a little bit of virtual land and I love SL despite its flaws and I adore the friends I've made in world. Sometimes it's really hard to choose between paying my tier and paying RL bills.. And the bills usually win. :-\ of course, your mileage may vary. --||-
  11. I am glad you found them again. Wunderbar is good stuff. I am also very fond of Rustica, Four Winds by Koshari Mahana, and most recently Alchemy Immortalis. Don't blame me if you spend all your Lindens at any of those fine establishmentts. *grin*
  12. No offense but I pay that much tier for a FULL homestead with full rights from a private estate owner (who is awesome too BTW.) $0.02, etc.
  13. if V2 ever becomes usable, then I might go back to it. It has so many bad design issues that i do not know where to begin.. and it's all been said before anyhow. For now, I use Imprudence or (occasionally) Phoenix. either of which is tolerable.
