  1. Does anyone know where I can buy cheap male skins without eyebrows? That seems to be the solution to Blakes eyebrow problem. I've got a few old skins from 7 Deadly Skins that are browless but it seems to be very rare to find male skins without eyebrows.
  2. I've just tried the Blake Senra skin and added Blake tattoo eyebrows. I see why there's a problem with other male skins now. The tattoo Blake eyebrows are placed higher up above the eyes and so aren't affected by the way the mesh eyelids stretch when Blake blinks. Tomorrow I'll try and find a male skin without eyebrows and try wearing the Blake eyebrows to see if that fixes the problem. This is going to be a real pain and I don't know if the Lindens would be willing to fix it or not. It looks as though the Lindens created the head for Blake, discovered the eyebrow problem, and solved it by creating skins with no eyebrows. The tattoo eyebrows they then created were deliberately set high above the eyes so they didn't stretch when Blake blinks. This of course is going to limit skins to ones without eyebrows and there are very few male skins without them. 7 Deadly Skins had male skins without eyebrows but not all of them. Then, of course, you're going to need special sets of eyebrows or use Blake's eyebrows. I think I'm going to be using the free Lelutka Evo X heads that I have in my Inventory.
  3. I have the Lelutka Kaya head that was given away free a couple of years ago at Christmas and, as the pic below shows, it fits perfectly with the Jaime body. The head in the pic is set to the old Evolution UV but it also fits as well set to Evo-X.
  4. Personally speaking, I find the Jaime head impossible to use. So I've dug out my Lelutka Kaya head which fits perfectly on the Jaime body and created 2 versions of Kaya. One is set to Evolution and the other set to Evolution-X. This gives me the best of both worlds and pleases my cheapskate soul as I got the Kaya head for free. On the other hand, I find the Blake head much much easier to use and it looks good straight out of the folder with Blake Shape 1.
  5. Has anyone else noticed a problem with the new search when refining your search by Permissions? I've just serched for teen female - Avatar Components - Avatar Shapes - Copy & Modify boxes ticked and clicked Refine Search button. Bought 3 luckily very cheap shapes without checking the actual permissions in the descriptions and found 2 were No Modify. They clearly have Modify & Transfer crossed through on the right of the description page and they're not new shapes. Is the new search not refining by permissions?
  6. Problems yesterday with some viewers being unable to connect to SecondLife & getting the message "DNS could not resolve the the Host name" appear to have affected the UK and been caused by British Telecom's DNS server failing. This has now been fixed! Perhaps we need to keep the current Firestorm viewer around as a back up in case this kind of failiure happens again. The last time this happened was only this June and it lasted for a couple of days if I remember. I didn't try Firestorm at that time not did I try another trick which is to change to using Google's DNS servers.
  7. Benn, try downloading the latest Firestorm viewer as Firestorm seems unaffected.
  8. Having a very odd problem. Logged in on the latest Firestorm viewer sorting Inventory and things started going slow, alpha layers and foot shapes taking ages to have any effect on my avatar. So tried relogging on the very latest Kokua viewer that I've just downloaded and clean installed - 3.7.21 - Logged in fine the first time, changed Prefs, and relogged. Message came up on Login screen after a while saying "DNS could not resolve the the Host name". Did as message suggested, checked SL.com and logged into my Dashboard with no problem. So tried SL Main viewer 3.7.20 (296094) and got the same message. Then tried Firestorm and logged in with no problems except texture loading when I tp is slow as though there are CDN problems again. Anyone else having similar problems?
  9. Be interesting to hear if people are again having problems with textures stalling this evening (currently 3.26pm slt).
  10. Ayesha I'm have texture stall problems this evening and inability to take off worn items. This lasts for up to five minutes at a time and then everything returns to normal. Earlier this evening (UK time) I was trying on skins. Suddenly the skins stopped changing. Ctrl+Alt+R stopped working, too. I was wearing one skin according to Inventory but what I saw on my av was the previous skin. I tried clicking several different skins and tried Ctrl+Alt+R several times then sat and waited. A few minutes later it was like watching a slide show as my av quickly went through wearing all the different skins I'd tried to wear. I did not go from the original skin to the last one I had tried, I saw all of the skins quickly rez and be replaced on my av. It seems as though we have a normal period of rezzing, then everything stalls, pauses, and returns to normal. I'm back on Firestorm at the moment because good though I found Catznip it is slow rezzing textures. (Edit) Returned to Catznip. Texture stalling is bad even on the Main Linden viewer. One new pair of pants with 2 alpha layers in the folder. Neither alpha layer would rez, one of the 2 alpha layers refused to be taken off, and at one point I had both alpha layers showing as worn with neither rezzing. Finally logged in on Catznip and all was resolved. Will see if textures continue stalling on Catznip tomorrow.
  11. Oh that is interesting Sara. I'll download and install Catznip and give it a try. Thank you. (Edit) Catznip does indeed seem better. As with all my viewers, Catznip has it's own Cache folder. Logged in and the whole mesh house was there instantaneously. Then I visited a store where yesterday most of a mesh couch had been missing. Only one arm rest showed but the mesh cat sitting on it. Yesterday that couch wouldn't rez for me or my alt no matter how many times we revisited. Finally I visited it with a friend, she sat on the couch and it appeared. With Catznip the couch was visible the moment I walked into the store. Catznip does seem a little slower at loading but that maybe because it's a new instal. I'll happily put up with slightly slower rezzing speeds so long as I can see everything I should be able to see. This isn't conclusive though because the dress problem mentioned earlier, once cured by relog while on UKanDo, wouldn't reproduce on other viewers. So, does Project Interesting save changes whatever in a central folder used by all installed viewers bewcause this doesn't seem to be a Cache problem as all my viewers have their own Cache folders.
  12. It is possible that this is something similar to the problems I've posted about (http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Server/bd-p/SecondLifeServer). While I'm not having the really bad problems reported in this thread I have seen one thing that seems to show things are getting worse. Since the last Grid Roll to the Main Server, the one that enabled CDN Grid wide, the small mesh house that I call home has rezzed instantaneously every time I log in and every time I tp home. Before the Grid Roll I would have to wait and click around to fill in lots of emplty spaces in order to make the house fully visible EVERY time I logged in or tp'd home. Yesterday evening and agin this morning I'm back to the old problem when I log in and tp home. Large bits of the mesh house are missing and there's no floor. I haven't clicked anything this morning just left myself standing still while checking the forum and typing this, and nothing is changing, nothing is rezzing. Been over 10 minutes now with no change. This is very depressing. I, too, am from the UK, wired connection, no wi-fi, and line speeds in excess of 60mbps. Ping sim is around 150 which is normal for me and 0 packet loss. I've got bandwidth set to 1500 on all viewers now, which is apparently the recommended Firestorm setting.
  13. Now the whole issue of missing prims/mesh pieces has become even stranger. I've just tried on a new mesh dress, it came in 5 sizes and 4 different colour variations, and it has a corset like top & a skirt. I tried on the small size first which was a little big, then I tried on the XS size. Only the black corset top rezzed which I thought might be a fault with the dress. So I tried on the other 3 XS size colour variations and found they were all missing the skirt. So I checked the other sizes, everyone was complete. I clicked the empty space where the XS size skirts should be but there was nothing there. I tried Alt-Ctrl-R but no change. So I thought okay a fault with the XS size dresses BUT I decided to relog while wearing one of the XS size dresses. I logged back in and everything was there, top AND skirt. This was UKanDo viewer which is suppossed to be very upto date. Now if this is a Project Interesting glitch why did it only affect the XS size dresses? Why have I have never encountered anything like this myself before last weeks Grid Roll when CDN went Grid wide? Could it now be a combination of Project Interesting and CDN glitches? I have no idea but it is now beginning to make me despair of SL. The worst thing about this problem for me is that I really have no idea what is missing from any location because since CDN rolled out last week everything now rezzes so very quickly. I'm no longer waiting around for several minutes having tp'd into a sim waiting for objects and textures to fully rez so I'm not looking for missing objects. At least with the dresses it was very obvious the skirt part was missing! Feeling really fed up at the moment. (Edit) I didn't change my Group while trying on the dresses. (Edit) I'm in the UK on BT Infinity (fibre to the box) with line speed around 65 to 70 and I'm hard wired, no wi-fi.
