In 2007 I read an interview with actor Drew Carey and he mentioned him and his wife used SL to meet when he was touring and I was intrigued. My family was scattered around and we rarely got the chance to see each other in RL so I signed up and then I convinced them to all sign up so we could hang out and spend time together. We did have lots of fun but they all got busier with RL and eventually didn't have time or interest in SL the way I did. I have been here ever since almost everyday and cannot imagine not having SL to escape to and be with my friends. Only one of my sons still uses SL and only occasionally but I have made many many wonderful friends here and they are like my family to me. I have asked friends to come but most come and go and some I wish I never asked.. LOL I have found you either love it or not and I do..

Anyone having issues teleporting to the weekly grab gift? It keeps telling me I do not have access to this location.. The cornfield Is anyone else having a problem getting to this location?

I can't find out how to turn on voice morphing. At the top of the box is says voice morphing off with no option to change it. If I scroll all the way down it says Get voice morphing but when I click that it takes me to my SL dashboard. Is there something I have to do there to turn it on and if so where is it? LOL Oh and I have already gone to voice island and selected the voice pack.

Yes there are very strict gambling laws but as with many states there is no menton of online gambling. Now if you tried to operate an online casino in Tn. I am sure you might run into some trouble.. LOL I was just curious where different sites might get their information. Not like I ever got rich playing games in SL but I did enjoy it but I will find other ways to amuse myself..

Yes I did some research and some sites allow my state and some don't and as I said the laws are not that clear for online gaming. I am in Tennessee. I don't think the Churchill Downs site allows all states. Hopefully in the future online gaming laws will be clearer and I would like to hope all states would be allowed but not sure that will happen.. LOL

I am sure they did and I have no problem going by their rules.. I just think the laws are a bit confusing since this is all really new territory. I have checked at various online sites that have wagering and see different states omitted so I think the laws at the moment are a bit unclear. Hopefully in the future the laws will be more clear about online gaming.

I am curious where SL got the info for which states are not allowed to play skill gaming. I think the laws are confusing to say the least. I recently joined an online bingo site which is owned by Churchill Downs and when I asked if I was allowed to play from my state I was told there were no wagering restrictions in my state but my state is excluded from playing games in SL.

Just a follow up on this.. I got my land back.. They said it was a rare bug they see maybe once or twice a year where a parcel is sold but doesn't get set not for sale.. From now on I will be checking this.. LOL Just happy I got my land back. They gave the other person a plot across the street somewhere.. hopefully not nearby. haha

Thank you everyone.. I just wanted to make sure nothing had changed about land sales and I see I was right.. I did just file a support ticket on this issue.. I went and looked and didn't even realize he only took 32ms for his ugly sign. How generous! It ruined my view and I would Never willingly have sold 1m of land for a sign.

Did you file a support ticket about this? I have never heard of this happening before and it smells badly If you are sure you did not set it for sale, your account was hacked somehow or .or maybe the server. It also appears to be a form of extortion. All they jwanted was the ad board space and the land was not for sale and they knew you weren't going to sell it. They somehow get the land and are willing to give it back only if you give them ad board space, which is what they wanted all along.

I was the only owner and there was no group it was deeded to. I explained it was a mistake and did get my land back.. at first he wanted more than he paid for it and I was going to pay it. Then he told me he would sell it back to me but wanted 64ms and of course you can guess what he wanted it for.. sigh.. I had no choice but to Give him the 64ms. So he sold my own land back to me for the same price and he got 64ms for advertising for Free! I never put the land for sale so guess it was a glitch in the system. At least I got most of it back.
