I would say either the first one or the nubian avatar...but then again my opinion isn't that strong either, because its not my type of avatar. Maybe just looking for a decent skin would increase your chances on finding something you really like?

are you aware that the first option and the nubian guard are only clothes, and the other 2 are only shapes? well the other 2 also have styling card, so i guess you'll know where to get the skin at, but the full avatar will be more expensive.... both shapes are good, DJIIN shape is niecer if you are thinking in get that skin also.

Anyway if you're goal is get a full avatar you can find them in marketplace too, some examples:

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/ELVEN-Independent-Complete-Avatar-PROMO/3536197

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Zyra-THOMAS-Complete-Avatar-PROMO-Price/2284287

These are cheaper, and good, and then you can personalize it as you want... hope it helps

Didn't look in this thread until now as the subjuct line made me think it was something other than what it appears to be. :)

I'm more expert on female African skins - but in that I have seen a number of male African skins when makers make both.

I suggest looking into these three brands:

Lyrical Oh, owner of Lyrical Store. Splits about evenly between male and female. Left SL for a while, but I think he's back.

Elysium - they seem to always release one male and one female everytime they do a skin, but then I only notice the males in a passing glance.

Angel Rock - the female skins are amazing, but also the most espensive you're bound to find. I know there is male stuff on the second floor of her shop, but I've only been up there once by mistake.

What makes these brands stand out for me is that they do African skins as African, mostly. Not just 'darkened Caucasian'. This is especially key in things like the palms of the hands at Angel Rock.

Also because the skins are African throughout, you don't end up with things like ashy highlights. Ashy highlights are sort of where the highlight is still a layer in the photoshop file designed for a caucasian skin, so the highlights seem to be 'off' somehow. Then again I HAVE seen ashy highlights from some 'only African' skin makers (who I am not listing above for that very reason).

Of the ones above Lyrical Oh's skins have African features about half the time, Angel Rock's skins are very African in feature. Elysium does one skin in several tones - and the features are not African, but they work well for people with features like Obama or Tyra.

The interesting thing about Angel Rock is she's got an absurd variety of African skins, plus some Caucasian and Asian ones - and she's one of the few skin makers I've seen who can capture not just the "race" of a person, but make you a skin that says "West African" or "South African" or "Central Europe" and you'll recognize that in the skin.

- But again I know she has a male selection, but I've not given them as much of a detailed look.

I think she sighed in relief because that mesh avatar is not quite to her taste. Not my taste either. :smileyindifferent:

But individual preferences set aside - you will have problems with a mesh avatar, because you will not be able to use other clothes with it than the ones shown in the ad. Maybe use the head alone with a full mesh outfit from another avatar. I am not even sure if you can wear shoes with it, and since it's no demo we can't find out. I would suggest that you contact the seller first and ask to meet him so he can wear the avatar for you. This way you can see how it looks in game.

Mesh clothes are made for standard sl bodies, with alpha layers to hide the part of the body under. A full mesh body does not work with alphas, and this one is way too muscular, the limbs and chest will show through no matter what. If you think you will be happy with looking the same and don't change your looks, this can work for you. But the moment you will change outfit, you are out of luck.

It looks like a bad joke about muscular men...or like a monster from a nightmare, I haven't decieded yet, but its clearly not human.

Right. :smileyhappy:

Clearly it's not a homo sapiens sapiens at all. Looking at the picture, it appears to be very tall, has a pin sized head and overgrown muscles. It might belong to homo musculus muscularis which was long thought to be extinct. However, recently it has re-emerged in some virtual worlds - and even in real life.

:smileywink:

PS.

Homo musculus muscularis might be good choise for some role play things.

Anyway, I rather would not see them multiply in great numbers. :smileyindifferent:
