I couldn't tell, but friends said that my voiced changed (back to normal), when I got over a very sore throat.

You could try SL's own voice morphing or a third-party solution like Screaming Bee.
I've never used either but I'm told they're quite good if you want to have a strange voice suitable for a robot or space alien or something but considerably less convincing if you want to change a man's voice into a woman's, or vice versa.

Woman into man works quite nicely actually... the problem there is rather the different speech patterns and choice of words.

You have to remember that some women can cuss worse than troopers.

True, and I do know a few men that have very feminine voices and speech patterns too. Usually obvious when they get called Ma'am on the phone. Totally off-topic, but that is indeed why I always laugh about "voice verified". Short of taking a DNA test + MRI or CT it's absolutely impossible to tell gender. Regardless of that, for most people speech patterns plus "sound" (pitch, modulation etc.) is approximately "gender appropriate".

Yeah, I hate when they ask to talk to my Mommy or Daddy!

Like this person did, perhaps?
Male voice to female voice
That's pretty amazing. ![]()
(At 1:40 we hear the original male voice)
