This is a brilliant idea Darren! Great thread. Lol, I had forgotten what's being a noob feel like, thanks to you, I've just spent an awsome moment! 

Here's the basic noob: female rocker. This is not bad at all. Back in the old times when I started, newbies certainly didn't look that way!. 

And here's the (little bit less) newbie after some shopping. 

(Hair from A&A, dress from Vassnia. Shoes come from the library. 

The modesty underwear shows under the dress!

Good job Valerie. Yeah the modesty underwear the skins come with make it very limiting to what you can wear.

EDIT: Haha yeah I noticed there is a lot more avatars to pick from. Even the non human ones look kind of nice. Would be cool to see if anyone dresses up one of the furry avatars

Some nice work there, folks. I tried this next one for a real challenge - one of the noob guys. The Future Punk doesn't have a lot to recommend him, apart from maybe the boots.

...and I even replaced those. For once I tried to stay vaguely with the original av theme. I don't have a lot of guy clothes, so I did what I could with the more unisex stuff. Oddly enough, I do have a prim beard (it came with a topknot hairstyle I bought). Make-up didn't feel like a good idea, but a facial tatt seemed to work for the theme.
