Can anyone help me with this?

Ctrl,Shift,U gets rid of the UI, which is what I want for video screen capture.

However, certain text "overlays" still remain; for example Friend login notifications.

ALSO, if anything inworld allows right-clicking (eg. avatars or objects)  AND my cursor is on that object, then an  "i [name]" field is displayed. Here is a screenshot to illustrate -

Q. What is the name for these  info texts? And can they be disabled or made to disappear?

I notice that the Viewer snapshot tool does NOT include them in a saved image; however my screen capture softtware (FRAPS) unfortunately does.

[ Actually, now that I know they are called Hover Tips, I found a setting for them buried deep down the Debug Settings list in the Advanced menu of the official LL Viewer.

Hiya anseim,

In Firestorm:

Preferences->User Interface->General Tab-> Uncheck "Hover Tips"

Preferences->User Interface->Toasts-> Draw the sliders to zero to eliminate the popups you don't want to see (I think that gets rid of them entirely, but I might be wrong).

I couldn't find equivalent settings in the LL viewer.
