Sl viewier will not load

i downloaded and undownloaded it over and over and it will not work it keeps telling me i need to install the lasest verion bc its more stable for my computer i have a Windows 7 laptop..can someone please help me

For now, download and install a Third Party viewer like Firestorm.  Several people are having problems with the newest Linden Lab viewer.  Until it is fixed, at least, a Third Party viewer is your best option.  After that.... who knows?  You may decide to just stick with it.

The latest version of WHAT?

Your computer needs several things to run SL successfully.

1. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.  Your graphics card's website will have the latest drivers
2. Install the latest version of QuickTime
3. Install the latest version of Adobe Flash.  You may need to install both 32 and 64 bit versions, depending on what operating system and web browser you use

If you have done the above and SL will not load, there is a bug in the latest viewer that's affecting some people with older Intel processors or graphics.  Try one of the Third Party viewers instead.  I use Firestorm.  Here's a list: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory
