I hate it. It is crap and the set up is confusing. I hate the side bar and I hate that I can't keep my stuff up and just minimize it on my view.. I HATE that none of my buttons are at the bottom of the page.. Some people say its great.. Its not! I have heard that Viewer 2 to will end up being the only viewer soon. DON'T DO IT, IT SUCKS!!!!

That is incorrect. Viewer 1.23.5 will be useable until at least late summer. Third party viewers will continue to be available.

But what is correct is that LL will force current residents to use something that almost 90% HATE! - at least according to a Linden run poll here on these atrocious Jive forums, which is another thing that most users HATE. Viewer 2 and Jive ... JFC!

No, that is not correct.
First, it will be after Viewer 2.1 is released. No one can legitimately hate it right now as no one has seen it.
Third party viewers will remain as an option.
No one will be forced to use Viewer 2.0.

Really? Not correct, again? My, my, you do like to tell people they are "not correct," correct? But it is correct that LL, being an IT company, cares little for what its end users like or don't like. It is also correct, that LL does not properly test what it wants to change. It is also correct that Viewer 2, in its first version was totally and completely inadequate, not to mention this atrocious excuse for forum software, by the name of Jive. It is time for a major shake-up and replacement of LL decision-makers, for that would be the CORRECT thing to do. But will the LL board of directors do the correct thing?

Does anyone really expect 2.1 to have any significant changes without introducing some other thing to make our lives miserable? Look at the condition of the viewer as it exited beta. Virtually nothing changed.
Except that we get more delusional, cheery blog posts about the progress being done by the 20 people who can't seem to do more than change one line of text every 6 weeks.

I'm just sayin' the Linden Gestapo isn't going to come to anyone's home and make them use Viewer 2.0.
If you want to keep using 1.23.5 after it's depreciated, that will probably be possible, too.

Considering how the Linden decision makers make their decisions, I doubt very much that Viewer 1 will be allowed to be used at some time in the future. By that time, I will more than likely be outta here anyway. I think I have had almost enough of LL and the stupidity of its decision makers.

Hello.
I tried Viewser 2.0 for I think less than five minutes. As soon as that crazy sidebar pushed my view to the side, I declared it Fail, and removed it from my computer, including from the registry.
If a version of the Emerald Viewer is ever unavailable, and no other viewer's extra features suit me, I will use Viewser 2.0.x. Fortunately, by then SL residents will have made and provided enough xml files to fix whatever mess LL makes and, as you stated, cheers as progress.

You're right about that. They will eventually block their 1.22.11 and 1.23.5 from connecting to SL. 1.22.11 at the end of the month, I think. 1.23.5 won't be blocked before late summer. Same as they've done with previous versions of the viewer. However this won't block third party viewers based on 1.xx.
There will still be ways around the block. You can use the "--channel" startup parameter to bypass it. Someone can also compile the viewer and release it as a third party viewer.
