Hot question answered up ahead!

Some of you have been wondering how to switch your forum — and in general, discussion — view to threaded view, which is commonly used on other systems so you can track branched conversations. It's easy!

  1. When logged in, click My Settings.
  2. Click the Preferences tab.
  3. Click the Display tab underneath that.
  4. Select Show all posts in a topic.
  5. Scroll down and Save Changes.

This video shows you precisely how:

Like I mentioned in the video, I recommend having a web browser with two tabs open, so you can easily flip between making changes and seeing what effect they have. Many are self-explanatory but some require experimentation and giving yourself time to get used to changes. Learning by doing will help you grow more confident with community.secondlife.com!

Our Community Platform team is busy scouring your early feedback and responding, so stay tuned for more need-to-know tidbits.

I can't say it's obvious from the name what that button does. Thanks for the explanation.

@WolfBaginski Yeah, we've checking to see if we can actually modify or add explanatory text to the button name so it stands out more — seeing how many Residents asked for it on the last system. You're welcome!

Hi Torley thanks for the video. :smileyhappy:

I prefer Linear View though but I love tabs (I have 9 open right now.) I wish in linear view the post would somehow reflect who the reply is to like the old system did.

P.S. I really wish we could see our Forum Avatars in the blogs it makes it so much more colorful. :smileyhappy:

Kimmie, try upgrading the drivers of your videocard to the last version, sometimes that fixes the problem.
