I'm a new user, and I haven't even been able to log in to the viewer once... Can you help?

So, this is my second day of having an account, and for some reason, I actually can't log in to the viewer. It keeps saying to check the firewall settings, or see if there's any maintenance, but I've tried at different times, changed the firewall settings, and nothing has worked. I really want to play and check this out, but I don't know what to do...
