Email password fails erroneously, to set offline IMs

Recently, my offline IMs were set to not be sent to email. Not sure why. Regardless, I want to change that, but when I try to set that on Account >> Contact Information, it keeps saying password is incorrect. I just logged out of my email account and back in, to make sure I am not losing my mind :P and that I am putting in the right passoword - which I am.  But, the system is not budging.  Has someone experienced this before?  I couldn't find a ticket on JIRA either.  Is there a work around?  Help! :matte-motes-confused:

Yes, you are indeed providing the wrong password.  My guess is that you are typing your e-mail password instead of your SL password.  It's a common mistake.  The instructions on that page are a bit opaque.

As Rolig says, use your SECOND LIFE password, NOT the password for your email account.
