It's almost entirely unlikely that a tablet will be capable of running Second Life. They don't have the graphics rendering capability in 3D, nor the space to adequately cool components through sustained (>30minutes) usage.

Further, their limited battery life and tendency to run heavy background processes makes them unreliable performers even at maintaining a connection to Second Life.

It can work.  I know people with a Surface Pro who have reported success.

You can also run SL on an Android tablet, using the SLGo subscription service...but this will cost you $10 per month.

However, it is not recommended.  No tablet really has the graphics muscle to run SL well.  Get a good gaming laptop, at a minimum.  A desktop is even better, if you are capable of using one.
