Why did it delivery my gift to Me instead of the intended recipient? and can i get my money back

I bought a tattoo as a gift for a friend, it was bought as a gift through the buy as a gift option and instead of delivering to them it delivered to me. i had to send him the link and the money so he could buy it himself. :( Could i get a refund because marketplace was stupid and messed up?

Probably not, unless you can somehow convince the merchant who sold it to you.  The only way you could get a refund from Linden Lab is to offer clear proof that the system screwed up, not you.  LL does not normally offer refunds of any kind -- see the TOS, sect 4.4.
