Anyone know of a reasonable (priced) laptop that is on the market now that will run Second Life ( not looking for it to look spectacular, just to be able to walk around and not crash ), and maybe something along the lines of Adobe Photoshop? ..
No I don't want a desktop, as I already have one. I need a laptop for my traveling purposes. I was going to get an ipad, but for some reason or another it doesn't run Secondlife ( .. It has metaverse, but whats the point of that if it's just a text client? )
So, can someone help me out?

Desktop is where it's at! Oh, you don't want a desktop, lol. You don't know what your missin', but ok. Everyone says that because you can get a pretty powerful gaming PC for cheap, versus a laptop which will cost you, in general, signifigantly more for even less performance of a desktop. Laptops are just more expensive!
But I understand where your coming from.
What is your knowledge on computers? I'm assuming you want a PC, not a MAC (does SL run on MAC?)
Or do you just want suggestions from PC geeks?
In any case, Tigerdirect.com makes it pretty easy by lumping all their gaming PC's under one tab.

That should help you narrow the lines a bit. If you know how to read minimum game requirements for SL, and stay well above that, most of these laptops should be able to run the game decent, maybe not on max without severe Frames Per Second hits though.
SL Minimum System Requirements:

Also, what is your maximum price limit
As I tell all my friends, the best way to save money and get the most out of a laptop is to buy refurbished.
Once you find a laptop you like, be sure to check around with google shopping to ensure your getting the best deal. If you don't want to wait for shipping, and you have a Fry's Electronics nearby, see if they will price match. They pretty much always will, if you can provide proof of the lower price.

Stick as high above the recommended system requirements as your budget allows and you should be good! :-). Any specific questions?

:/ I have a desktop ( and right now it has issues, and I want to throw it out the window... BUT It works better than my current laptop which I find I am using more lately )
Well, right now I'm looking to spend no more than 700. . . I don't mind refurbished, but truth is I have no idea where to get a decent refurbished laptop . .. I thought of hitting up ebay, but dealing with an individual and not a company can cause big headaches.

err I have knowledge of both PCs and Macs, however I prefer PCs. I understand certian aspects of computers ( like what does what) but as far as certian things go as the details of why Secondlife runs like poop on my computer, and other programs like ..Hellgate London run perfectly fine - -is what I don't understand.

You can try it for free and even to buy is a tiny cost compared to a laptop. It's a handful of $.

$700 is a tight budget for a gaming laptop.
Acer Aspire V3-571G-9435 at $799 is a little bit above above your budget but way ahead of similar priced notebooks in terms of performance according to reviews. i7 processor and Nvidia 640M graphics card.

Great! Thanks for all the help everyone! --- Though I am curious is it completely neccisary to use a gaming laptop? Don't some chipsets run Secondlife? . .Like I said, I'm not looking for anything fancy, just to be able to log in and walk arond inworld is fine with me, with the added ability to run something like Photoshop of course.
