Help can I download second Life onto iPad? Safari won't let me and I'm not that technical

Hi Darna,

Standard Second Life viewer cannot run on an iPad, as they are designed for computers running Windows, Mac OS (not iOS) or Unix. Furthermore, iOS apps may only be obtained from the App Store. You cannot download them from the web. There is a subset viewer for iOS called Pocket Metaverse. You'll find a link to it on LL's Third Party Viewer Page. It gets lukewarm to cool reviews and can't do many of the things a full viewer can. I also don't think it's being well supported, as their website mentions the iPhone 4 as if it's new, and it's four generations old.

There is another alternative, which is to subscribe to SLGo, an online service that runs a full viewer on a remote computer, and streams the resulting view to your iPad (iPad 2 or later). It costs $10/mo and is claimed to give a pretty whizzy experience.

I've not used either, so I'm simply passing on hearsay.
