Second Life Server (main channel)

The main channel is getting the group ban project, which was previously on LeTigre.  As the name implies, this project adds the ability to ban users from groups.   See the release notes for details about this feature.

Second Life RC BlueSteel:

BlueSteel remains on the inventory update project.  This project enables support for a new version of the inventory service, AISv3.  To make use of this new feature, login with the Sunshine RC Viewer.  This week's update includes the changes from this week's main channel update, and also includes the anti-griefing measure found in this week's LeTigre update.

Any chance of an LSL interface for managing the group ban list?

It may be technically possible, but there are no plans for that feature.  The permissions handling for that would be tricky - group-deeded objects couldn't automatically be allowed, since having 'Deed objects to group' ability does not imply you have 'Manage ban list' ability in the group.

One option would be to require that the script be owned by a member and set to the group, and be connect to the sim that the object is in, similar to llRezObject() behavior per SVC-3145.  This option is pretty ugly and not very useful, however.

That certainly would not be the ideal model to emulate. Perhaps something like the permissions-based behavior on group-owned land of llReturnObjectsByID() and -ByOwner, however, might be more workable. Admittedly, that logic is pretty intricate.

Almost midnight, SLT, and the Status page still reports the Main Channel server maintenance as in progress. Either something has gone sadly wrong, or somebody is careless about reporting. There's the usual announcement of a planned start at 3am, an actual starting message at just after 7am, and nothing since.

And in-world there is some laggy behavious affecting mesh objects and textures in general.
