2013-07-30 17:50PDT: The plans for BlueSteel have changed (see below).

Second Life Server (main channel)

The main channel is getting the server maintenance project that was on RC BlueSteel last week.  This project fixes some miscellaneous bugs, and also allows viewers to send requests for materials data more rapidly.

Scheduled Tuesday 2013-07-30 05:00-12:00 PDT

Second Life RC BlueSteel

BlueSteel is on a new server maintenance project.  This project fixes some bugs related to LSL scripts in child prims of linksets, and also addresses some server crash modes.

https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_BlueSteel/13#13.07.19.278840

Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-31 07:00-11:00 PDT

BlueSteel's planned project hit some last minute issues, so the update has been canceled for this week.  Instead, BlueSteel will not be rolled this week (it will match the version on the 'Second Life Server' channel).

Second Life RC Magnum and Second Life RC LeTigre:

Magnum and LeTigre remain the 'server side appearance project' that was on Magnum last week.  This project changes the way in which avatars set their appearance.  More details of this project can be found here and here.  The only change with this week's update is to include the maintenance changes found in the main channel's update.

We will be monitoring this thread as the code gets released, so feel free to note any observations you have about the server updates.  If you have a specific bug you'd like to report, please file a Jira

After the server rollover yesterday on Main Channel we have been seeing difficulty in the rezzing of mesh clothing. Distortions in the placement of actual mesh clothing attachment  (sticking out to the side, etc) .also very slow rezzing generally. This is happening  on all my 13 region (all connected) Estate.

I have had the same issues yesterday.

My mesh jacket was shown as a flat triangle beside my avatar.  Only after several restarts of my viewer (official SL Release) the problem was solved. And a lot of objects on the mainland were not visible. This was not the old "make-it-visible-with-right-mouse-button-click" error, but the objects simply does not exist for the render engine.

Hi Tymus, to rule out changes outside the server (viewer updates, internet performance, asset server performance), could you try and see if there's a difference in mesh loading performance between the current main channel version and an older version?

You can find both versions on the beta grid ( http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta_Grid ).  On the beta grid, region Ahern is on the current main channel version (13.07.19.278836) and region Morris is on an an older main channel version (13.07.12.278519).

Hi Maestro ... I went to both region on the beta grid wearing mesh, but did not see a difference.  Both were rezzing correctly.  Last night , it seemed to affect some avatars and not others.  I was rezzing fine, but saw this type of distortion on some others...i.e., 'duplicates' of ladies mesh dresses or mens jackets sticking out horizontally (as in the photo below ) ... or upside down.  In another case the mesh dress was oversized on the avatar. With several avatars the mesh was not rezzing at all. All you could see were the alpha layers. I am using the latest Firestorm 4.4.2.34167 but have never seen this issue until yesterday.  Hope it helps. Again, it wasn't just me .. many others have been experiencing this. Photo was take on the Armenelos region of my estate.
