Toddleedoo, help with weight

hi, im just wondering if anyone here uses the toddleedoo blender avastar and if they had 5 mins to explain where/why my weight painting is going down the toilet :/, as a example i mad ea cape to fit over the shoulders, but when rigged to the toddleedoo body it just sucked the model into the middle of the body and no amount of weight painting made it look better

 

ANY help would be greatfully recieved

Maybe this is a mistake in the rigging process at all.

Parented your rig ? 

Follow one of the great tutorials on rigging. Sometimes even long time users forget a single step.

What is the toddleedoo avastar model? I've used avatar for over a year now and I have no idea what you are talking about.

hi, its just a Modified normal avastar to fit the toddleedoo mesh avatar size,  so it works as the normal avastar does but at a smaller scale.
