Rigging does NOT work!

I'm having a hell of a time with this collada stuff giving me errors I do not understand.

I'm always winding up with different errors each time I try to fix one I get another.

Currently it says...

 -

26 attributes had complex animation. Complex animation was exported as baked curves. (1248 evaluations done)

I'm just getting so fed up of this.

Using Maya 2012.

Nevermind that error, I made it go away and the export supposedly worked, however...

I can't select anything to make it a wearable avatar rig peice in world!

Okay, so I ignored bones by mistake in the skin binding. Hope that helps somebody.

However upon wearing my mesh...my body distorted into insane proportions...

Your Avatar Shape affects the mesh. There are sliders for the shape that will stretch the mesh. If you want the mesh avatar to look like the 1 you made, you need to create a brand new SL shape. A new shape should have default settings.

Oh thanks, though this was the case of my body parts stretching out in all directions. Very scary. I figured out what I did, when I had my skeleton imported it was sideways so I fixed it and freezed transformations out of habit. Started again without doing that and I finally managed to make mesh work! I hope somebody can learn from my bit of insanity here...

I don't think there are many maya users making mesh avatars. At least, not that comment on the forums. So, it might be good for the few successful rigged avatar Maya users to help with the wiki page for Maya. I'm not personally a Maya user. I'm using 3ds Max.
