New viewer is at 3.0.0.238864 now, here's the link: http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/?lang=en-US In this new version mesh-update is included now (like in the development-viewer-mesh). Even went into live chat, filed a support ticket etc, but I could not upload meshes. I logged out, went to bed, woke up, went to work, and later on the day I logged in and could upload meshes. I downloaded the latest beta viewer, its still not work, the problem is some Sims not support Mesh Upload. when I went the 'Mesh Test Support Sandbox' sim, I can see the Upload Model menu.
