Trying to understand selling on Marketplace

Sorry all, but I am new to all of this selling stuff, Do I need a Xstreet box, or not? I have listed things on Marketplace, I think?? But i cant find them. Although i see them in my shop listing, I am totally confused :womansad: All help greatly appreciated :womanvery-happy:.x

You have 2 bikes on the marketplace but so do other people and after listing the items try to learn about marketing and how to sell your stuff. Good luck! Nice bikes btw:)

I typed your avatar's name in the MP search (there are 5 results lol), and now I see you have the shirt too which is placed in "Apparel" category. 

Now watch this; that same category - Apparel, has 1 355 736 items inside and yours is one of them, there are thousands of items uploaded before yours, thousands that have been sold many times and therefore have higher ranking. I would place that shirt in unisex tops, which is a bit better because a) its a top and b) there are less items inside that category (less than 15 000). 

Motorcycles category has 2112 items (176 pages) which you can sort by relevance, price, newest first etc. Your bikes can be on any of those almost 200 pages. On the top right of the screen I sortem them by "newest first" and your 2 bikes are on the 3rd page. Some people sort by newest first but many go with either the "best selling" or the most relevant which is the default. Sadly, if I sort them by relevance your 2 bikes are on the last page.

When making a listing your goal is to write a correct and detailed description of the item, use keywords that describe it the best possible, make a nice photo and basically fill in every possible thing you can using the words that describe your product. Please don't use keywords that have nothing to do with your product, like Yamaha, Honda or Harley.

What you can do is make one really cool item and sell it cheap, zero or 1L$ and this item will serve as your ad (because with time and a bit of luck many people wil buy it, the item wil become more relevant and climb up on the relevance). When people buy your freebie item, like it, they will go check what else you have. 

You can buy an ad on the marketplace - when revising your product, on the bottom of the page you can pay a fee and have the item shows up on few pages, my advice is to buy an ad on your category landing page because people spend most of their browsing time on these pages (and not on the mp landing page which many merchants chose but buyers only open that page one time - when they open the MP page lol). 

Also, there is a "share" option and you can share your product on many social sites, assuming you have profiles on those. If not, and if you plan to work more serious on your shop, make at least some. Google+ allows SL avatars to have profiles and you can connect with many people there and promote your products. 

Your in-world profile has no infos about your MP shop, not even a profile pic. If you are active in-world and visit many places imagine how many people check your profile? And how many of them could see that you have a MP shop! You should also open a small shop in-world or at least rezz your bikes somewhere, put infos in profile and point people there. Even if you give few of your bikes to friends, they will serve as promoters. The more items you have rezzed in-world, more chances of someone seeing them and inspecting to see the creator. Also for the MP, since your product doesn't have a demo, people need to see it in-world before buying. 

Every time your item sells it becomes more relevant and climbs up in search, but if it stops selling, it will sink. Uploading an item to MP is a small step, now you have to put a lot of effort to promote the products. Good luck
