Marketplace Enhancements Questions/Opinions help please.

For the first time today I used the enhancement feature for one of my items on the marketplace. I chose the option "Feature this item on the home page (L$899 every 7 days)" and its been a few hours now since I updated it with the enhancement. I assume it takes a few for it to sync up and show up in the listing. I am also hoping I understood where that option shows, lol.  It  is going to be when  you first click on the marketplace under featured items?  

I am still however yet to see it.  So to those that have used it....How long does it take to show up, am I looking in the correct place and will I be able to see my own listing? I refreshed the home page several times and scrolled through. I never saw mine, but I did see others that showed up more than once while scrolling through and refreshing.  Also if you see the listing, could you please let me know?  I have a friend that is watching for it too, but they have not seen it yet either.  

I then checked my Listing Enhancement Performance under my reports. I have to admit I don't really think I understand them. I tried to Google and check the forums for a better understanding, but it didn't explain it to me. I am hoping someone might shed some light on the numbers and their meaning. I will include a screen shot of what I see on my end, and if someone could break it down to me I would be grateful, LOL. I feel silly for asking, but just want to understand.
I did notice when I was searching that many people seemed disappointed with enhancement and called them a "trap" and said they were not helpful. Is that a general feeling? I was wondering what others thought that used the features and if they found them to help sales or if they didn't really see a difference?

Whether or not you'll personally see your own ad, is, really, anyone's guess. There's a good chance you might not see yours, or will only see it a few times in the 7 days it runs. You'll have to check the page frequently, and yes, scroll through them all, in order for the possibility to exist. Lots of folks never see their own listing, even having friends check, is no guarantee. I'd be happy to check periodically to see if I see yours, however.

But, I can explain the numbers

In your image you'll see that it shows how many impressions, and click throughs.

Impressions are how many times the listing has been shown to vistors of the site, it shows how many in the last day, how many in the last 7 days and how many in the last month. So far, your listing has shown up 117 times in the last  day, and 120 for the last week and month. 

Click throughs are how many times a visitor of the site has actually clicked on your featured listing, which, at this point(the time you took the image) is 0.

It won't show sales, you'll have that information on your transaction page(s)(dashboard and MP)

Thank you so much Tari! I was not getting the numbers at all, lol. I will def keep scrolling and looking.
That makes sense on the listings, because I would guess there are a lot of people that also list theirs. At least I know it is showing up somewhere now that I understand the numbers. Hopefully it will start to get some clicks.

I would very much appreciate if you see the glasses letting me know, lol. I'm just curious about how it all works, esp since I am attempting to use it. I just hope mine starts showing up like the others I seen. I wondered if the ones that I see over and over that are the same, perhaps listed theirs for longer and that is why it shows up more, as that would makes sense...spend more, be seen more.

If I may suggest something for you, to think about....

When a random person goes on the marketplace to buy something (pants for example), what is the average time that they stay on the landing page? And what are the chances they see any of the listing enhancements that are placed there? Now lets say you put your listing enhancement in the category where your product is - Glasses I suppose, or even more general Avatar Accessories category, what are the chances that people who look for glasses and scroll through pages see your enhancement?

That is a great suggestion Tamara...I did not even think about it in that way. I personally scroll through the top, but that is just me, lol....I am fairly certain that you idea about people not being on the landing page is correct. I really didn't understand the options, and now am realizing that posting a forum here for help first would have been the wiser option.

I think that I will try to list another pair of the glasses as you suggested and see how it goes. I have them listed in the holiday section under the new years category. Do you think that is the best category to list them in, or would accessories perhaps be better? My original thought was to list them on the check out page, like on the 0L cart...but then thought, most people that shop that way, might not have linden to spend, so decided to no choose that.

I thank you so much for you help, and it is nice to meet you. I am open to any other advice and/or suggestions you might have. I have had a store for years, but advertising was never my strong suit.

I really have no idea but I believe thats the best category because they are themed and not usual glasses. With the mp you can never be sure lol. Glad you liked the suggestion and I hope you will get some satisfaction from it. 

One more thing, pay attention to your numbers, how many times the item sold in one week with and without the enhancement so you know is it worth to spend money on it.

I really do think your idea is the best way to go. I went to the holidays category, and looked and there are like only 4 items that scroll across, so to put the item there, would most certainly be seen more, and the cheaper way to go, lol. I am going to list another pair of the glasses on that page.

I did them in each color of the rainbow, and so far the red and the rainbow colored ones are selling the best. The red ones are not enhanced so I will watch their numbers to compare my numbers as you suggested. So far they have sold more than the rainbow and would be a good control item, to see enhancing it really does improve the numbers.

I so wish I would have started this topic first before I just listed it. LOL. I appreciate your advice and I am going to take it. Do you have a favorite color by chance? If so, let me know and I will send a pair of glasses that color to you, in thanks for your help.

I thank you again for you help.  It is great to meet you and your advice as spot on.  So far the enchantment on the home page hasn't mattered at all really, and the one on the holiday category actually gets clicks, where the other has gotten 7 clicks total, lol.  Next year/time I know to just put it there to start, save me linden and do more good.
