what type of products do you make?

how much time you spend making a product?

how much time do you spend taking photos and listing the product?

1-I make lots of things, just about everything, and some things I still am not quite sure exactly what they are.

2-It depends on what I am making, what I have to do to make it, who I am making it for(or what), and what I have going on elsewhere in my life at the time

3-It takes me less than a minute to take a photo, less than five to edit said photo, and assuming MP plays nicely, a few minutes to list.

1.  I specialise in fashion jewlery and accessories.

2.  I will spend hours until I am satisfied with the overall result.  Sometimes you manage to get it right the first time, sometimes you need to restart.

3.  I take a few hours as I need to present the products decently.  Concerning the listing, I think it's what I dislike.  It can take some time since you need to present your product.  Plus, you have to do each individually.

I make lots of things, I do it for fun. Mostly if I see someone attempting to do something I will ask to build them something.

Depending on what it is. My current big project I've spent three days (15 hours at least) and I'm still working on it.... :)

Photos are quick, I normally have a sim in mind I will use for background etc. But editing them takes a couple minutes. I've learned how to use gimp pretty good :)

What about you?

Isn't it really relative to the product?  Making a tatoo is completely different then creating a HUD with many features or other scripted product, specially when you also provide free regular updates and new features. Tatoo take 1 hour, HUD could take 1000+ hours if you count updates and on going work on the product.

One thing I can tell for sure is that the average customer often has no idea how much time and effort creators in SL put in their products! There are many great mesh builders for example that sells quality buildings for 1 or 2 US Dollars while they 'may' have spend hundreds of hours in Blender (or similar app) with dozens of test upload versions, much time on texturing and adding nice lighting and adding scripted features to their build (etc).
