Well the popular FRAPS doesn't work on your platform according to their website. I did a quick search and there seems to be only one to choose from. So check with Google and see it that might work for you.

 

I don't know a soul that uses Blender to edit. I make mesh and I didn't even know that was a posssibility (and perhaps it is not :D).   I think your chioces are going to be very limited. So go with what you can!

There's a few available for Linux, I tend to stick with VLC myself for capturing. There's also recordmydesktop and Kazam.

For editing there's also a plethora of tools for Linux. Kino, OpenShot, KDEnlive, a few others which I forgot the names of. I don't need video editing all that often, but if I do I tend to use KDEnlive because it's pretty simplistic.
