Lindenhomes are all the same size (the parcel at least), but you can rent some (main)land for sure and pay for it. i have a linen home to, and know you cannot change it. but i wish i could make it smaller.the are oversized to big. if you place furniture into it it still woul look ugly. this a common sl pronlem that things are to big. hope the fix this in the new sl.

 

still like to have the option for smaller home. and no mainland not option stopped with thar, not enough prims, ugly places and expensive. not that linden homes always look good

Another option is to rent. You can get nice rented sky homes with loads of options for as little as 60L a week (search for 60$ homes) and you only have to pay for a week at a time so you can try it out, if you don't like it try something else.

The ones I have seen are mesh and you can change them from a cottage to a camp site to a town house etc something like 20 options you just pick from a menu.
