Is there free land?

Okay im so happy i brought a lot of houses. But the problem is i need land. I have no money and im hoping there free land. First I want to build like a really cute Clothing Shop but I do need land. Will you help me out? Thanks!!!

No, there is no free land.  There are sandboxes where you can rez objects temporarily for a few hours while you are building.  And if you have a VERY good friend who owns land, s/he might let you build there.  Otherwise, no.  Land is space on a server, and someone has to pay for it.  If you want to build on the mainland, you pay a monthly land fee to Linden Lab.  If you build on a private sim, the landowner pays that fee and you pay the landowner.  Ultimately, if you occupy land and have not paid to be there and have rights, you will be evicted.

Before you buy buildings, always check to see whether they will fit on land that you own, and that you have enough prim allowance (L.I.) to support them there.  Otherwise, you'll have to keep them in your inventory.
