HELP! can't drag and drop script into object

Purchased a hud and the same creators advanced scripts. Followed his video to delete old basic script and tried to drop the NC and script that are indicated in the video into the hud but the script wont go. I can't figure out what the problem is. I checked permissions. they are the same as other scripts..no mod, copy, transfer. but it wont go. and if I drag it over the object instead of the edit window it shows a lock. Its almost like the object on my hud (a texture button) wont let it in. making me insane!!!!

By any chance, were you still wearing it when you tried to do this?  If so, detach it, rez it on the ground and try again.  If it works, then just take it back into your inventory and wear the one you just picked up, not the old one (assuming it's copyable).

I tend to run into that problem whenever I try to drag new scripts into an attached object that I did not create.  I do not have that problem, if I created the attached object.  The script creator seems to be irrelevant.
