How do you get linux on the ps3? does it have to be an older version of the ps3?

My PS3 is the old version, have Linux with out horrible sony updates

Yeah I dont think you can put linux on newer models. I tried putting ubuntu on my laptop last night.... epic fail! lol

Yes I like to know how you did that on a PS3 I would love to see it on my HD tv  I have a J drive and I was trying to get on SL throught that but the drive itself didnt show up on the screen.

Ok if you have a ps3 slim or you have the old ps3 and have updated the firmware to version 3.15 or higher you wont be able to install linux or any other OS on it. They got rid of that feature due to hackers. Sorry

I do however remember a update version that has the features but retains the "Other OS" capability.  However it was made by a private individual and I'm not sure about future updates from Sony from beyond that point.
