Not sure what you mean? If you mean to hide your userID over your avatar head? You cannot. It would allow for too much griefing. If you mean to hide it from one person -who has to agree to have userIDs hidden from THEM by wearing a special attachment or object- that you can do . But reguires the person you don't want to see the name to do something. Not you.

is a sailboat called a Tako. it has a prim text display label thingy on it. name speed and stuff like that. maybe OP worked out how to turn it off

Yes - I've heard of those. Perhaps the OP did work it out. And is keeping it a secret now.

Sometimes I am really tempted to IM these people and tell them it would be nice if they posted the solutions they found for the benefit of the whole Community.
Quite frankly, I find it rude that someone would post a question here and not do so.

I know you've got it solved. But, for future reference and for anyone just curious, all you need to do is chat "id off" (without the quotes) to local chat and the ID goes away.

Oh, whew!!! I thought maybe LL had gone from real last names to "Resident" to now assigning us all numbers and I hadn't heard about it yet. ![]()
