How old does my account have to be before I can sell L$?

First you must have a verified PayPal account on file to sell L's.  Then you must have a billing transaction, which is either payment of tiers, member fees or $L's purchase. 

You may only sell the amount shown as your trading limits.  You can see what those limits are by logging into your dashboard on the web, and clicking Manage under the area showing your Linden Account Balance.  It will be low at first, and during the first 30 days increase depending you the amount of time since your first billing transaction.  After that, the limit will be set based on your account activity.  The restrictions are to guard against fraud and money laundering.

If your limits don't meet your needs, you can file a support ticket and ask that they be raised.  LL will review the request and either grant or deny your request, based on your Lindex usage and payment history.  It is not automatically granted.  It takes five business days for the review.
