Hello,

I set my SL account to send email notifications of messages receive offline, sending to my Yahoo! email store.  This feature works, but lately, I have noticed that the originating addresses will change, even from the same person sending it in SL.  Because the email originating address changes, I can't depend on future messages from a particular person will stay white-listed in my Yahoo! spam mail filters.

The question I'm asking why are the originating email addresses changing so often?  It's already an almost incomprehensibly long string, so why does it seem that the addresses are now getting randomized?  I don't know if anyone else is having an issue with this 'feature', but I certainly am.  I've more than a few friends that I'd like to know might be trying to get in touch with me.  It is a royal hassle to have to go into my Yahoo spam folder every day to see if it caught 30+ false positives from them, just because the originating email address has changed.

the random string part is a temporary reply address... the reason it changes is so that online spammers cannot use them to spam avatars while they are inworld.

you should be able to set the filter to recognize the stable part of the address, and this should be safe for whitelisting. I can't remember if yahoo lets you whitelist based on content, but you could also try that.
