Tarnish occurs commonly and easily on sterling silver due to the way moisture in the air reacts with the alloy. But the tarnish do can be minimized if you store them in a right way. For example, you can store them in a dry area or use silica gel packets to keep moisture levels down in your jewelry box or flatware storage containers. Besides, after wearing sterling silver jewelry, you should wipe it down to get rid of any perspiration that may have transferred from your skin, which can reduce the rate of tarnish of your sterling silver jewelry.

Come to think of it, silver doesn't exist in Second Life. Neither do water or oxygen.  That explains the lack of tarnish.

The only thing you can tarnish in SL is your reputation. I'm working on it!

You mean you haven't scorched it yet on your fire pit?  ;)
