How do I create the 3-D flower attachments that people put on System Clothing?

Hi. I've been making system clothing now with Gimp and enjoying doing so.  I have seen outfits that have say a 3-D flower attachment around the neckline, or across a bodice/skirt, etc.  What would I use to do that? Or is there a place to go buy those parts? I've looked for sculpties, but I haven't had any luck.  Would love to add to my designs, but can't find the information on how to do so. Would love any help or suggestions on how to get started or where to go.

Thank you!

Mystic :)

You can certainly buy plenty of pre-made sculpty or (better) mesh components like that.  They are sold in Marketplace and in many in-world stores.  When you buy someone else's work, of course, you are limited to the choices that they made in creating them.  Someone else's 3D floral applique may not fit the bodice that you designed for your own dress.  The best way to have the flexibility you'd like as a designer is to learn to make those extras yourself.

If you're up to the challenge, download a free copy of Blender from the Internet and start working through some of the zillions of tutorials to learn how to fly it.  You can take some basic classes at places like Builder's Brewery in world, and you can learn a lot by reading posts and asking questions in the mesh forum.  Mostly, though, you'll learn by practicing a lot.

You either buy full-perm flower bits and texture them the way you want OR learn to make them yourself. I have several full-perm flowers I use in different places, some free and some purchased and I even made one.

Don't be afraid to "kit bash". That's when you use bits of several products to make something different than any of the starting kits.

These for example, could work.

Thank you everyone! This gives me a few different things to try and/or a combination of them.   I figure I'll end up with blender at some point. Didn't realize there was a free version I could d/l to try. I had wondered about the flowers like the one: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/White-Flowers-Builders-Kit-Mesh-Full-Perm/5578344

Looks like that particular one comes with each piece that I could then edit inworld? Otherwise, if it didn't include each piece I'd have to do so via blender?

Thanks again!
