how do i get into the game after i am at the home screen

Hi Alleballet,

There is no "home screen". You enter Second Life through one of several available viewers. The officlal viewer can be downloaded by clicking the "Download Second Life" link at the bottom of this page. There's a list of third party viewers available here...

I recommend starting with the official viewer, though some people have been experiencing problems with it. If that happens to you, I recommend the Firestorm viewer, which is in that third party list.

You will need a reasonably capable PC, Mac or Linux computer to run the viewer. Once you've downloaded the viewer, you launch it and log in with the username and password you selected when you registered.
