There is a new "Skill Games" policy, effective September 1.  Ths only affects your contest board if it meets the policy's criteria, which are:

  • The game requires or is capable of requiring a payment to play (entry fee, bet, whatever it may be called) AND
  • The game's outcome depends entirely or mostly on skill (not random chance, which would fall under the Gambling policy) AND
  • The game awards money or some other prize of value

Skill games that meet this definition must pay registration fees to LL, and can only be operated on regions that also pay registration fees.

If your board has an option to charge entry fees, then it may fall under the new policy.  Contact the creator of the board to see if they have a "skill games compliant" version that can be used anywhere.

The above is my own paraphrasing of the new policy.  For LL's own words, see here: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Featured-News/Coming-Soon-Skill-Gaming-in-Second-Life/ba-p/2771080
