Do I need permission to build a real life model of the oil rig ANWR?

I have been recommended as a modler for a project that is an ocean oil platform.  One of the photos supplied to me is of ANWR.  I like the model and want to know if I need permission to model it in real life for this project.

Building a model of a Real Life object, whether you build it in Real Life or do it digitally, does not generally require permission...unless the object is trademarked.

For example, you don't need permission to model the USS Enterprise, the aircraft carrier.  But you DO need permission to model the USS Enterprise, the starship from Star Trek.
