I want to make my own clothes. How do I download clothing templates? How do I upload my creations?

I am trying to find free avatar templates that will allow me to make my own clothes. I saw a video on youtube about how to do it and it said I needed some uv templates. Where and how do I get these and how do I download them to GIMP?

Templates allow you to make someone else's clothes and put your textures and coloring on them.  It's a little different from making your own clothes.  :smileywink:  Still, you can find clothing templates all over the place.  Try shopping in Marketplace or wandering around to texture shops in world.  They're hard to miss.  Generally, when you buy a template, you are given the URL for a web site where you have limited access to download a PSD file --- the UV map -- to your computer.  Pop that file into Photoshop or GIMP and you're set to go.

For Systemclothes (layerclothes or also textureclthes often called):  http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Clothing_Tutorials Many mesh creators offer also meshtemplates and there you should also get the UV map for the mesh clothes. As Rolig says, you will get a link to download all you need then.
