what is the red heart shape in black square?

I have been looking for an answer and can't seem to find one. Can someone enlighten me on this subject.  I see this on my map and wonder if it is safe to go through.

There are a lot of those around the mainland.  Those are rental properties, owned by Mystical Rentals.  It's not only safe to visit them, but I suspect that the owners would be pleased to have you interested enough to stay for a while.  :smileywink:

Rolig is absolutely correct, but there's more to this story, too.

The world Map shows things that are in world, just as if it were a satellite photo.  As long as the object is below 250m and is large enough to show up, you'll be able to see it.  If you own a fair-sized piece of land and put a big house on it, in a couple of days you'll actually be able to see it on the Map.

Some land owners take advantage of this to put a "logo" on their property.  They build a great big object out of prims and put it in the sky over their land.  This is the "heart in a black square" that you are seeing.  From below, it's textured transparent, and it's phantom so that avatars flying by won't bump into it...but it can be seen clearly from "space."

NOTE:  If you are thinking about doing this...the object's TEXTURES won't show up, only its shapes.  If you want to create the word "LOVE", you can't just make a big square and slap a texture that says LOVE on it.  You must build the word LOVE out of prims.  This is one of the few remaining uses for really big megaprims.
