Not really. Each person is a separate entity and has to be handled individually by the servers. It's a job of handing off access to all sorts of databases (inventory, friends and group lists, etc.) from one region's servers to the next.  (These are the "capabilities" that you see reference to occasionally.) There's no practical way to bundle several people's accounts together and treat them as a single transferable unit.

Having said that, though, it is certainly possible to follow a pre-set route as a group, or nearly so.  You can script portals that have preset destinations, even a selection of several possible destinations, and then have group members click through the portals one after another.  With the Experience Tools system that is now in beta testing and has been demonstrated in Linden Lab's Portal Park and Linden Realms, that idea has been carried to the next level.  You don't have to click and select a destination. You just step through a portal and end up at the new location.

Those are all instances of travel to predetermined spots, though. There's nothing equivalent for near simultaneous group TP to random spots.

Here are a couple of methods that can work...

  • One person is the "group leader."  She opens an IM window to all of the other people in the group.  Then she teleports to a location, and starts sending teleport offers to the other group members, one at a time.
  • Establish an itinerary.  Put landmarks for each location in a notecard, and give a copy to all the group members.  Then, everyone uses the next landmark in their notecard to teleport.
