hi

there are lots of way to do that.

on a sim, if a grifer, that attcaks me is about.

i open the avatar on sim list of names.

and click on the grifer name

this put a ligth on them, that beams up into the sky.

so i know were they are if they on the sim.

plus there the mini map.

friends are a different color on the map.

so you can see them that way.

if you are new, and using the SL viewer.

open the search and type into it, Help at Caledon.

that a english help place, and there avatar safy classes there.

give that a go.

enjoy SL hope that help you.

It's quite easy to track locations of avatars within a single sim - I'm sure you know how the mini-map works.

But across the whole of SL, the only ways to track an avatar location are:-

  1. Via Map Permissions - these are granted/revoked on your Contacts List, and allow your friends to find you on the Map window. If you didn't mean to do this, you can revoke it by clicking the globe icon next to your friends name. Contacts List is Ctrl+F in-viewer.
  2. Via LSL scripts - if your friend gave you any 'gift' - an item of clothing or piece of jewelry, it may contain a spy or mapping script. To test this, detach any or all gifted attachments and see if your friend can still find you.
