I can't figure anything out because its in Russian  or German Is there a English download of this? I tried playing for hrs last night , and just got furious...why is it all in another language?

SL is a product of an American company so it is available in English.  Here is where to get english language viewers : https://secondlife.com/support/downloads/?lang=en-US

Note that SL is an international community.  It could be you just happened to land in a region where mostly German or Russian people hang out, if all chat is in one of those languages.  Just TP to another region if this is the case.  New Citizens Incorporated (NCI) is a place where you can get help and ask mentors questions in world.  Cambridge University and The Shelter are also good places for new people to learn about SL and meet other new people.
