Gimp changing colours ?

I want to change the size and colour of my avi's eyebrows. The easiest way of doing this I think to make a picture of my eyebrows, gimp it and use the result in a tattoo. In Gimp itself the colours look alright but in world it is as if there comes a grey fog over the "paint work". Does anyone know what this is and how I can avoid it ?

Did you make all but the eyebrow area alpha. If not it would not be surprising that you get a color change using a snapshot. I would delete all but the eyebrow area and make it all alpha and then fade in the eyebrow area to the alpha so that there isn't a line

Yes I did ... the texture is all alpha exept for the eyebrow area.
