No matter what client I use any sculpted clothing I attach refuses to load.

I just recently tried to return to SL, I have logged in both the vanilla and firestorm clients, switched to several differnt accounts, cleared my cache and done clean installs. I am able to rez any sculpted clothing and see it just fine, however if I attach it, it will never load, I can't do anything to it, and going into the invisable sight mode does nothing and neither does clicking on the object. I would like to know how to reclaim the majority of my inventory.

That's not sculpted clothing, it's mesh, most likely.

And I bet you have an AMD/ATI Radeon graphics card.  Roll back to the version 14.4 driver.  For more details, see this link: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/ati#known_good_ati_driver
