I purchased a demo of a skin to try. Now I can't get the thing off of me and I have demo all over me

Hi I purchased a demo skin.  It looks terrible on  me but when I tried to remove it only a part of it came off.  Now I am two colors and have demo stamped all over me - HELP

"Wear" another skin.  The only way to get a skin off is to put on another one.  You can find several in the Library folder in your Inventory.

I think you have TWO problems, since you say you are "two colors."

First, you are probably wearing one of the starter "mesh" avatars.  These are like a second body that is worn on top of your regular body.  They also include an "alpha mask" clothing layer that makes your regular body invisible.

If you take off the alpha layer, parts of your regular body show through the mesh body, giving you a patchy, two-toned look.

To see ALL of your regular body, Detach the mesh body.

The skin is applied to your regular body.  Skin is one of four body parts that can never be completely removed, only replaced with another item of the same type.  The Essential Four are shape, skin, eyes, and system hair, or "hair base", also sometimes called a baldy, bald cap, or eyebrow shaper.

To get the most out of the huge variety of skin, hair, shapes and clothes in SL, I recommend changing your mesh avatar to one of the "classic" avatars.  Click the Avatars button, the top one on the left side of your screen, and choose an avatar from the "classic" group.  Now you can try on your demo, and non-demo skins, and other clothes, and edit your shape in Appearance mode.
